Warriors aim for Wacca win
The Western Warriors are set to start the new year with a bang with two KFC Twenty20 Big Bash matches at the WACA Ground in the first week of January, including a clash on New Year's Day against New South Wales. This summer the expanded Twenty20 Big Bash will see the Warriors play two matches at home and two away within the first fortnight of the new year. WA will host NSW on New Year's Day and South Australia on Thursday the 4th of January in twilight fixtures that are sure to provide three hours of exciting cricket action. Big hitters Luke Ronchi, Adam Voges and Marcus North have all been named in a 15-man Warriors squad for next week's two home matches which should ensure that plenty of balls are sent flying over the boundary. Joining the hard hitting trio in the WA line up for his last hit out before the Commonwealth Bank Series will be Australian One-day international spinner Brad Hogg while all rounders James Allenby (Claremont-Nedlands), Matt Johnston (Willetton) and Theo Doropoulos (Scarborough) have been rewarded for good Retravision Shield form and could all make their State debut. Chris Rogers and Steve Magoffin have both been rested while Shaun Marsh and Luke Pomersbach have been omitted due to disciplinary reasons. |
