Aaron Moores | cricket20

Ross Taylor smashed the Central Stags to the finals of the HRV Cup with a six in the final over to break the hearts of the Northern Knights in a thrilling match at Seddon Park in Hamilton.

The low scoring match was dominated by the bowlers but Ross smashed 28 off just 12 deliveries to leave the Stags one win away from a place in the Twenty20 Champions League.

With heavy rain interrupting the game the Stags were left with a target of 95 from 12 overs but when Ross arrived at the crease they were in trouble with the score 59/4.

Taylor wasted little time smashing 3 sixes in the space of 12 balls to set up the victory which denied the Knights a place in the top two.

Earlier Peter Ingram lead the way for the Knights hitting a quick fire 26, he was supported by Mathew Sinclair who scored 22.
