Hopes leads Bulls to comprehensive victory
The Queensland Bulls cruised to a comprehensive 8 wicket victory against the Tasmanian Tigers at the Gabba in Brisbane after the home side successfully chased a victory target of just 119.
Bulls skipper James Hopes (65) lead the way with an impressive half century, his 5th in the shortest form of the game to help the Bulls seal victory with 37 deliveries remaining.
Despite losing openers Michael Lumb (2) and Chris Simpson (20) inside the first 3 overs the Bulls didnít panic as Hopes and Lee Carseldine (28) shared a 3rd wicket partnership of 94 to seal victory.
Having started their campaign with an impressive 63 run victory against the Retravision Warriors last week the Tigers came into the game full of confidence but they were blown away by the Bulls.
With only skipper George Bailey (37) offering any sort of resistantís the Tigers bowlers will struggle to defend a total of just 119 against the Bulls big hitting top order.
James Faulkner (24) added some valuable runs at the bottom of the order after Bailey was bowled by Nathan Rimmington in the 17th over.
The Tigers struggles were compounded with some poor running between the wickets which resulted in Mark Cosgrove (15) and Travis Brit (12) both run out inside the 8 overs.
