Superb Hurricanes make it three in a row
The Hobart Hurricanes maintained their excellent start to this years KFC Big Bash League thanks to an impressive 14 run victory over the Adelaide Strikers at the Adelaide Oval.
Hurricanes skipper Xavier Doherty (4-17) lead the way, picking up four wickets to help the visitors successfully defend a total of 171-4 to make it three wins in a row after the Strikers were restricted to a total of just 157-8.
Travis Brit (44), Phil Jaques (41) and Owais Shah (36) lead the Hurricanes with the bat to leave the Strikers facing a tricky run chase as they looked to bounce back after defeat against the Sydney Thunder on Friday night.
Aiden Blizzard (20) and Michael Klinger (36) got the home side off to a good start thanks to a quick fire opening stand of 22 before Blizzard was bowled by Doherty at the start of the 3rd over.
Klinger, Adam Crosthwaite (5) and Callum Ferguson (2) quickly followed and all though Tom Cooper (43) and Cameron Borgas (31) offered the Strikers hope, the Hurricanes held on to record another impressive victory.
