Strikers cruise to victory over the winless Heat
The Adelaide Strikers snapped their two game losing streak in impressive style thanks to a comprehensive 31 run victory over the winless Brisbane Heat in a one sided affair at the Gabba.
Having lost their previous tow games the Strikers got back to winning ways against a Heat team which lost their fourth straight game to remain bottom of the KFC Big Bash League.
Faced with a victory target of 167, the Heat suffered more batting woes with the top order blown away by Kane Richardson (2-2) and Alfonso Thomas (1-26) to leave the home side 66-6 after 10.2 overs.
Steve Paulsen (35) offered the Heat some hope but wickets falling at regular intervals he was unable to save the day as the home side crashed to another defeat after being restricted to a total of just 135 with two overs still remaining.
Having batted first the Strikers recorded a total of 166-4 thanks in part to a quick fire half century from Michael Klinger; the opener smashed seven boundaries on his way to a top score of 53.
Tom Cooper (43) and Johan Botha (28) offered support to leave the Heat facing a tricky run chase in front of their own fans as they looked to finally record a victory after three straight defeats.
