Scorchers keep rain at bay to seal victory

The Perth Scorchers saw off the rain and a lack lustre all round performance by the Brisbane Heat to seal a nine wicket Duckworth Lewis victory in a rain effected encounter at the Gabba in Brisbane.

Having been put into the bat the Heat were 109-4 after 13.1 overs thanks in part to a half century from Chris Lynn (51) before heavy rain forced the umpires and players back into the changing rooms.

With the Heats innings curtailed the Scorchers where set a victory target of 51 from five overs which they completed with four balls to spare thanks to Nathan Coulter-Nile (23) and Sean Marsh (19).
