Ponting half century seals Hurricanes victory
Another half century from Ricky Ponting was enough to help the Hobart Hurricanes seal a seven wicket victory over the Sydney Sixers at the SCG in Sydney in front of another disappointing crowd.
Ponting smashed 63 runs from 52 balls which included two fours and three sixers to help the Hurricans chase down the defending champions total of 154-8 with a ball to spare thanks to some help from Aiden Blizzard (48).
It proved to be another bad day for the Sixers who lost their fourth game of the campaign to leave them in serious danger of missing out on the knock out stages of the tournement.
Michael Lumb (34) and Steven Smith (34) led the way for the home side but with wickets falling at regular intervals the Sixers where restricted to a total of just 1564-8.
