Hodge helps Stars record fourth straight victory
The Melbourne Stars strengthened their chances of reaching the Big Bash League semi finals thanks to an eight run victory over the Adelaide Strikers at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide.
Brad Hodge lead the way with a quick fire 88 which included ten boundaries and three sixes to help the visitors record a total of 175-8 after Shane Warne won the toss and elected to bat first.
Rob Quiney (22) and David Hussey (17) offered support but with wickets falling at regular intervals Hodge was left to steer the Stars to a total which proved to much for the Strikers to chase down.
Kieron Pollard was at his destructive best with 65 runs from just 43 balls including five boundaries and four sixers but it proved it vain as the home side were restricted to a total of just 167-4.
