Klinger leads the Strikers to easy 38 run victory
The Adelaide Strikers strengthened their chances of securing a place in the Big Bash semi-finals thanks to a 38 run victory over the Hobart Hurricanes at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart.
Michael Klinger led the way with a half century to end the innings 71 not out to help the visitors record a total of 162-4 after Johan Botha won the toss and elected to bat first.
Callum Ferguson (32) and Nathan Reardon (29) offered Klinger support to leave the Hurricanes facing a run chase of 163 which if sucsefull would have seen them move up into second place in the Big Bash League.
Tim Paine (33) and Ricky Ponting (26) started brightly but with wickets falling at regular intervals the home side were restricted to a total of just 124-8.
