Pomersbach guides the Heat into the semis
Luke Pomersbach smashed a quick fire half century to help the Brisbane Heat seal a crushing eight wicket victory over the Hobart Hurricanes at the Bellerive Oval to seal the final place in the Big Bash semi-finals.
The Heat will take on the Melbourne Renegades on Tuesday night in the first semi-final after they crushed the Hurricanes thanks to Pomersbach who smashed 82 runs from just 42 balls including thirteen boundaries and two sixes.
With Pomersbach leading the way the Heat chased down the home sides total of 150-3 with 35 balls to spare to leap frog above the Adelaide Strikers and the Hurricanes to seal the final semi-final spot.
It proved to be a disappointing day for the Hurricanes who needed just to win in order to seal their place in the knock out stages but even with a 4th wicket stand of 64 between Jonathan Wells (40) and Owais Shah (32) the Hurricanes were no match for Pomersbach.
