Heat stun the Scorchers to seal Big Bash title
The Brisbane Heat crashed the Perth Scorchers party after sealing a 34 run victory at the WACA in Perth to win the KFC Big Bash title in commanding style to upset the hometown team.
The big hitting Scorchers came into the game as clear favourites but the Heatís bowlers didnít care for reputations as they restricted the home side to a total of just 133-9 after being set a run chase of 168.
It proved to be a memorable night for the Heat who won their second straight away match after sneaking into the semi-finals thanks to a victory over the Hobart Hurricanes in the final group match of the tournament.
Adam Voges (49) offered some hope but with wickets falling at regular intervals the Heatís bowling attack led by Kemar Roach (3-18) ensured the Scorchers lost their second straight Big Bash final at the WACA.
Having won the toss the Heat batted first and posted a total of 167-5 thanks in part to Joe Burns (43), Luke Pomersbach (37) and Daniel Christian (37).
