Langer credits Sabres win to team spirit
Relieved after pulling off a last-ball win over local favourites Deccan Chargers, Somerset captain Justin Langer said the thrilling triumph in their Champions League Twenty20 opener was made possible by his side's team spirit. "To play in front of a crowd like this, in an excellent stadium, was a great thrill. To win a close game like this goes to show the character of this team," he said last night after the team beat Deccan by one wicket. "Defeating the Deccan Chargers on their home turf is a great morale booster for the team," he added. However, Somerset hardly have any time to celebrate their success as they have a crucial match against Trinidad and Tobago at Bangalore tomorrow. "It's a big game and we would like to win that," Langer said. |
