IPL teams will find it hard going in South Africa

Former India skipper Sourav Ganguly feels conditions in South Africa during next months Twenty20 Champions League wont suit the Indian Premier League teams.

The Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians and Bangalore Royal Challengers will represent the IPL during the second edition of the tournament but Ganguly is concerned the pitches in South Africa will play a big factor.

"It will have an impact as the technicalities will be different, planning will be different,” said the Kolkata Knight Riders skipper.

“There won't be too many scores in excess of 200. There will be a lot more close games and a score of 130-140 could be a winning total," he added.

Although the conditions will be tough Ganguly believes the experiences will help some of Indians younger cricketers.

"The tournament will give players like Tiwary, Vijay, and some Karnataka cricketers a chance to play in tough conditions. Look what Raina is doing after all the exposure he got from the Indian Premier League," said Ganguly.
