Bravo fireworks rescue slumping Super Kings

Dwayne Bravo came to the Chennai Super Kings rescue to help the defending champions secure a vital four wicket victory over the Cape Cobras in a tense encounter at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

The West Indian smashed three boundaries and two sixes during a vital innings which saw him contribute 46 runs from just 25 balls after the Super Kings had slumped to 120-6 in their attempts to chase down the Cobras total of 145-7.

Bravo smashed 17 runs off the penultimate over, bowled by Dale Steyn to give the Super Kings the advantage going into the final over as the secured victory with two balls to spare.

It proved to be a disappointing end for the Cobras who missed out on the chance to record their second victory in their tears tournament and, perhaps mire important hand defending champs their second straight defeat.

Despite the early loss of Richard Levi (6) and Herschelle Gibbs (18); Owais Shah (45) and JP Duminy played a vital role to help the Cobras take control of the match before the Super Kings fought their way back into the game by restricting the South Africans to just 21 runs in their closing four overs.
