Heavy Rain dampens Pollard fireworks

Kieron Pollard smashed a 34 ball half century for the Mumbai Indians before heavy rain washed out their group game against the Nashua Mobile Cape Cobras at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore.

The West Indian smashed six boundaries and three sixes on his way to a quick fire 58 to help the Indian record a total ofd 176-5 before heavy rain dampened the display during the innings break.

Sarul Kanwar (45) got the Indians innings off to a fantastic start, smashing three boundaries and five sixes before he was dismissed by Robin Peterson.

With heavy rain falling throughout the remainder of the evening, umpires Kumar Dharmasena and S Ravi had little option but to abandon the game just after 11pm local time.
