With Twenty20 cricket being the fastest growing format in the world the Bartercard Power Rankings will be the definitive source for Twenty20 ratings.
From the Twenty20 Cup in England to the ABN-AMRO Twenty20 Cup in Pakistan, cricket20 as ranked all 66 teams participating in domestic Twenty20 cricket, the ratings have been compiled to give the first ever Bartercard Power Rankings.
Teams from England, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan and Sri Lanka have all been rated and included in the Bartercard Power Rankings.
The ratings are based on a number of important factors including runs scored, totals chased and the loss of wickets, a teams rating is then worked out by dividing the points scored in each game by the number of matches played, the totals are then given to the nearest whole number.
With the completion of this weekends Twenty20 Cup Finals Day the inaugural Bartercard Power Rankings have been calculated and cricket20 are pleased to announce the August Bartercard Power Rankings.
The number one Twenty20 team in the world are the Sialkot Stallions, the current ABN-AMRO Twenty20 Cup champions won every game in this year’s competition and it was this run of 8 straight victories that propelled them to the top of the rankings.
Interestingly the first four teams in the rankings are from the ABN-AMRO Twenty20 Cup, joining the Stallions in the top four are the Karachi Dolphins, Lahore Lions and Lahore Lions.
Rounding out the top five are the Surrey Lions followed closely by two time Twenty20 Cup winners the Leicestershire Foxes. The trio of Twenty20 Cup winners is completed by the Somerset Sabres in 7th place.
The Victorian Bushrangers, 2006 Australian Big Bash winners are in 8th place just one point ahead of Sri Lanka’s 2005 Twenty20 Cup winners Chilaw Marians in 9th.
The top ten is completed by yet another champion, the Faisalabad Wolves, the 2005 ABN-AMRO Twenty20 Cup winners are Pakistan’s most experienced Twenty20 team.
