Middlesex have signed South African Tyron Henderson as a short-term replacement for Chaminda Vaas.
The 32-year-old will deputise until mid-July while Vaas is away playing for Sri Lanka against Bangladesh.
Henderson was a member of the Highveld Lions side which won South Africa's Twenty20 competition earlier this year.
"He's a right-arm fast opening bowlers who hits the ball a country mile, according to our coach Richard Pybus," said Middlesex chief Vinny Codrington.
Henderson, who had a spell with Kent last summer, will be available throughout the first round phase of the Twenty20 Cup.
"His signature maximises our opportunity to win our very tough group and go further than we have before in the Twenty20 competition," Codrington told the club's website.
