Worcestershire’s Australian opening batsman Phil Jaques will miss the opening four games of the Twenty20 Cup campaign after returning home for “family reasons”.

The New South Wales left-hander is expected to be back at New Road on June 30 which would put him in line for a return to action in the cup game against Gloucestershire on July 1.

On-loan all-rounder Kyle Hogg has also returned to Lancashire, who are struggling with injuries. Hogg had joined the Pears on loan to cover for injuries to Matt Mason, Doug Bollinger and Roger Sillence.
