The first ever Twenty 20 Cup game at Lords on Derby Day is already heading for a sell out announced the MCC.
The MCC is pleased to report that all 80 boxes and hospitality suites at Lord's have now been booked for the Ground's first Twenty20 Cup match - even though the fixture is still more than two months away. The match between Middlesex Crusaders and Surrey Lions will be played on Thursday 15th July.
Ticket sales are also going well, and a large crowd is expected for the game which, as one of the last matches in the regional group, could determine who proceeds to the Cup's quarter-finals.
Roger Knight, MCC's Secretary & Chief Executive, said: "We have been delighted by the level of interest in this match, which will be the first Twenty20 fixture to be played at 'the home of cricket'. Over the next two months, we shall continue to encourage as many people as possible to come to Lord's for this London derby.”
”The two teams contain some very talented players, and we are looking forward to an enjoyable evening - full of exciting cricket - on 15th July.”
