Adam Hollioake, the former Surrey skipper will lead a star-studded World XI, including
Mushtaq Ahmed and Murray Goodwin against Worcestershire Royals under the Twenty20
format at New Road on June 28. The match is being played as part of Tom Moody's
testimonial celebrations and will provide the Royals with a good test before the
Twenty20 swings into action.
Tom Moody, the Royals director of cricket said: ‘We have got some great
players already signed up for the World team and more are set to follow. Have
no doubt about it, this is going to be a very competitive game of cricket and
a good test for our squad.’
Worcestershire’s Commercial Director Tom Sears said: ‘Last year Twenty20
cricket really captured the public’s imagination and already we have seen
huge interest in our three games this season.
‘We have almost sold as many advanced tickets already as we did last summer
and there is still seven weeks to go before the first match. In addition we only
have a few hospitality places still available for the matches so we are asking
people to buy their tickets as soon as possible otherwise they could miss out
nearer the time.’
