Hampshire registered their first Twenty20 win of the summer as Sean Ervine's unbeaten 50 guided them home by seven wickets against Essex.

The former Zimbabwe all-rounder hit two sixes and five fours in a 29-ball knock as the home side reached 100-3 with 16 balls to spare.

In a match reduced to 15 overs per side, Essex could only muster 99-8 as seamer David Griffiths took 3-13.
