Gloucestershire's bid to close the gap on Midlands Division leaders Warwickshire was held up as their Twenty20 clash against Northamptonshire was abandoned.
Persistent rain meant that not a ball was bowled at Campbell Park, with the match called off at 17:00 BST.
It is the third time this season that Northamptonshire have suffered an abandoment and it leaves them two points behind Gloucestershire and a further two behind Warwickshire.
