Sussex given Wright Twenty20 boost

Luke Wright has been given permission to play in Sussex's opening Twenty20 Cup match against Kent on Wednesday.

The all-rounder was expected to miss the entire group stage due to his inclusion in the England one-day squad which is due to assemble in Manchester next Thursday prior to the following day's Twenty20 international at Old Trafford.

However, coach Peter Moores has made 11 members of the squad available for the Twenty20 Cup to enable them to switch into one-day mode as quickly as possible.

Moores said: "We have a quick turnaround between the end of the Test series and the start of the NatWest series and we felt that the best way for the players to prepare for the series was by playing Twenty20 cricket for their counties."
