Rain at Chester-le-Street on Wednesday night denied Durham the chance of revenge for their Twenty20 Cup defeat by Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge.
At the halfway stage of their 10-match programme Durham have lost only once, as have Nottinghamshire, who have a game in hand.
It is the second successive year that Durham's home match against Nottinghamshire has been washed out, continuing their bad luck with the weather in this competition.
