A stunning late-innings surge from the Somerset Sabres proved the difference as the Glamorgan Dragons lost by 89 runs in Taunton.
Somerset, 79-2 after 10 overs, totalled 212-3 with James Hildreth (71 off 37 balls), Keith Parsons (57 not out off 28) and throwing the bat at the death.
And Ian Blackwell weighed in with three late sixes for his cameo 22 not out.
Faced with a Twenty20 record run-chase, Glamorgan always struggled and were bowled out for 123 in the 18th over, Blackwell returning 4-26.
Indian Sourav Ganguly top-scored with 35, but when he fell to Blackwell Glamorgan's very slim hopes turned to dust.
Glamorgan remain rooted to the bottom of the Mid/West/Wales division, but Somerset, with two wins from three games, are in the picture for finals day.
