A blazing 59 from Ian Blackwell proved enough to hand Durham a one-wicket victory over Nottinghamshire in a thrilling final ball finish to the Twenty20 Cup match at Trent Bridge.
Blackwell hit five fours and two sixes in his 33-ball innings in a partnership of 103 with Dale Benkenstein (53) as Durham seemed to be cruising to their victory target of 164.
Blackwell fell at the start of the 18th over with only 14 runs required, but the nerves then hit the Durham tail.
With the scores tied going into the final over, bowled by Mark Ealham, two wickets fell before Mitchell Claydon managed to hit through midwicket for a nail-biting win.
It meant Will Jefferson's 75 - his best score in Twenty20 - was not enough for the Outlaws, who reached 163 for six from their 20 overs.
