with a new skipper at the helm. England wicket-keeper Chris Read has been appointed
captain for the 20-over competition.
Notts director of cricket Mick Newell has decided to rest most of his senior players
after naming a 13-man squad, with seamer AJ Harris likely to make his season debut
in place of Greg Smith. Bilal Shafayat and Samit Patel should also feature with
Kevin Pietersen, Jason Gallian and Mark Ealham providing strength in depth in
the batting department. Shoaib Akhtar, who has been recalled to the Pakistan squad
for he Asia Cup will be missing for Durham.
The Dynamos will be looking to get back on the winning track after going down
to Sussex under lights on Wednesday. The north east side can not call on Steve
Harmison or Paul Collingwood who are both on international duty with England but
Gary Pratt will be looking to add to his good form with the bat after his 58 not
out against Sussex.
