The Middlesex Panthers have confirmed they are on talks with Yuvraj Singh about joining the Lords based team as their second overseas player for this summers Friends Provident T20.

The Panthers have already been turned down this winter by Sachin Tendulkar who decided to concentrate on playing international cricket for India.

With Adam Gilchrist already confirmed to play for the Panthers, Angus Fraser, Middlesex's director of cricket, has been searching for another explosive batsman who could open the batting with the former Australian wicket keeper.

Singh is one of the superstars of Indian cricket and although he is best known for hitting Stuart Broad for six sixes in an over during the Twenty20 World Cup in South Africa in 2007 he has also picked up 2 hat tricks for the Kings XI Punjab in the IPL.

"We have been in talks with Yuvraj about the possibility of him playing Twenty20 cricket this summer" Fraser told cricinfo.com. "The contract is not in place at this moment in time, but we're in communication, and it seems to be going quite positively".
