The Surrey Lions have announced the signing of Australian all-rounder Andrew Symonds for this summers Friends Provident t20.
The former international will bolster the Lions middle order as they look to rediscover the form which saw them dominate Twenty20 cricket in 2003 and 2004.
Symonds, 34, has played Twenty20 cricket for Kent, Lancashire and Gloucestershire and is looking forward to his spell at the Brit Oval.
"I've always enjoyed playing in England and am looking forward to playing for Surrey. I consider myself lucky to have the opportunity to play this exciting form of tournament cricket," he said.
Surrey cricket manager Chris Adams feels the signing of Symonds will give the Lion an extra dimension as they target success in this summers Friends Provident t20.
"Signing a player with the unique abilities of Andrew Symonds will add a huge X-factor to our squad. I have watched him take apart some of the best fast bowlers in the world and am hugely excited to see him exhibit his skills in front of packed houses around the country," said Adams.
