New Zealand all rounder Scott Styris is set to join the Essex Eagles for next months Friends Provident T20 tournament.
The 34 year old all rounder will join up with his new teammates on Thursday, June 10th and will be available for the remainder of the Eagles group games after missing the first 10 days of the event.
"We are obviously delighted to secure the services of Scott. He is a vastly experienced cricketer and that is why we have signed him. He has shown good form for New Zealand and has the experience of the World Cup to offer," said Paul Grayson, Essex Head Coach.
"Scott is a general all-rounder and a good T20 player and we hope he will make a big impact on the side. As a committed cricketer he knows how to play the game and is a canny one day player, he could well prove to be a very astute signing for Essex," he added.
