Disappointing Spitfires struggle at the Rosebowl

Felix Austin | cricket20

The Kent Spitfires limped to a total of just 114-9 against the Hampshire Royals at the Rosebowl after failing to recover from losing 3 early wickets.

Having won the toss the Spitfires lost Robert Key (0), Martin van Jaarsveld (11) and Geraint Jones (0) inside the first 4 overs to leave them 20-3.

With the top order blown away; Darren Stevens was the only batsman to offer any sort of resistant’s battling away for a well deserved 36 before he was run out by Chris Wood in the 16th over.

Apart from Stevens no other batsman scored over 15 runs as the Royals bowlers controlled the game with Wood picking up two wickets in an impressive spell which saw he concede only 17 runs from his 4 overs.
