Yorkshire Carnegie suffered their second heavy loss in the space of 24 hours after losing by 21 runs against the Worcestershire Royals at New Road.
Set a target of 209 for victory Yorkshire never troubled the Royals losing wickets at regular intervals to fall well short of their target with only Anthony McGrath (39) offering any hope for the visitors.
Earlier on a glorious summers evening Vikram Solanki and Phil Jaques both registered rapid 30’s on a perfect batting track to help the Royals reach 74-2 after just 5.6 overs.
Although Solanki and Jaques didn’t remain at the crease for long their explosive start ensured the Royals held the upper hand throughout the game with the runs flowing quickly.
Australian Steve Smith (34) built a 6th wicket partnership of 58 runs with James Cameron before the young spinner was dismissed by Adil Rashid in the 15th over.
Cameron (51) remained at the crease to record an impressive half century from just 30 balls which included 4 fours and 3 sixes.
