Spitfires on top thanks to Jones and Stevens

The Kent Spitfires hold the advantage after against the Sussex Sharks after setting the defending champs a total of 164 to chase for victory.

Having won the toss Sharks skipper Mike Yardy put the Spitfires into bat and it was a decision which paid off straight away thanks to Robin Martin-Jenkins who bowled Joe Denly (5) in the 3rd over.

Robert Key (23) and Martin van Jaarsveld (23) added valuable runs before a partnership of 73 between Geraint Jones and Darren Stevens turned the game in favor of the Spitfires.

Jones (32) was dismissed by Yasir Arafat in the 17th before to leave Stevens (52) to see out the last 3 overs and claim another Twenty20 half century to help the home side reach 163-5.
