Panthers struggle has Sabres take control

The Middlesex Panthers struggled against the Somerset Sabres setting last years beaten finalist a total of just 156 to chase under the lights at Lords.

Having won the toss Panthers skipper Shaun Udal decided to bat first but it turned out to be a poor decision after Adam Gilchrist (0) was dismissed by Ben Phillips in the third over.

Scott Newman (26) and Neil Dexter (29) added valuable contributions before Owais Shah and Eion Morgan built a 4th wicket partnership of 53.

Shah (26) was dismissed in the 16th over to leave Morgan (48) to see out the reaming 4 overs to help the Panthers reach 155-6.
