The Somerset Sabres cruised to a comprehensive 84 run victory over the Kent Spitfires who suffered a dramatic batting collapse at the County Ground in Beckenham.
Set a target of 190 for victory the home side started off poorly with Martin van Jaarsveld (6) and Robert Key (9) both being dismissed cheaply inside the first 4 overs.
Geraint Jones (25) and Sam Northeast (21) offered some resistant’s but Kieron Pollard produced a devastating spell of bowling picking up 4 wickets to hand victory to the Sabres.
With the pressure mounting the Spitfires lost their last 5 wickets in the space of 20 delivers to slip to their 5 defeat in their years Friends Provident t20.
The collapsed completed a disappointing day for the Spitfires who put the Sabres into bat having won the toss and could only watch on as James Hildtreh (77) and Jos Buttler (48) made light work of the home sides bowlers to put the Sabres in control.
