Adam Lyth smashed an incredible 18 ball century to give Yorkshire Carnegie the upper hand against the Worcestershire Royals at Headingley.
Having won the toss the home side got off to a stunning start thanks to Andrew Gale who smashed 19 runs from just 8 delivers. His cameo was ended by Richard Jones in the 2nd over much to the disappointment of the home crowd.
With Gale back in the dugout Lyth took center stage smashing the Royals bowlers out of the ground on his way to an incredible 18 ball half century which included 9 fours and 2 sixes.
Lyth (59) quickly departed after he was trapped LBW by Santh Jayasuriya in the 9th over but with support from Hercshelle Gibbs (40) and Jonathan Bairstow (49) the home side reached 213-7 to set the Royals a mammoth run chase.
