The Lancashire Lightning kept their hopes of a place in the Friends Provident t20 quarter finals alive thanks to a 6 wicket victory over the Leicestershire Foxes at Grace Road.

Having won the toss and batted first the Foxes set the visitors a total of 177 to chase for victory thanks to Jacques du Tiot (69) and James Taylor (61) who built a third wicket partnership of 92 to put the Foxes in the driving seat.

Foxes veteran wicket keeper Paul Nixon offered some support down the order with a quick fire 19 to help the home side reach 176-6 from their 20 overs.

In reply the Lightning batsman all contributed to the visitor’s victory with Steven Croft (42), Simon Katich (41) and Paul Horton (30) all playing big roles in the run chase.
