Dragons snap four game losing streak

The Glamorgan Dragons reignited their Friends Provident t20 campaign with a hard fought 7 wicket victory over the Middlesex Panthers at the SWALEC Stadium.

The Dragons completed the victory thanks to Tom Maynard (63) who top scored for the home side to help snap the home teams four game losing streak.

Set a target of 167 for victory the home side got off to a good start thanks to Mark Cosgrove (33) and Jim Allenby (45) who shared an opening stand of 56 before Cosgrove was dismissed by Neil Dexter in the 5th over.

Allenby quickly followed but with Maynard at the crease the Dragons reach their victory target with 7 balls to spare.

Having won the toss the Panthers batted first with David Warner (24), Scott Newman (48), Dexter (40) and Dawid Malan (40) all contributing vital innings to hel the visiors reach 166-2.
