Spriegel and Tremlett to hot to handle for Sabres

The Surrey Lions scored an impressive 43 run victory over the Somerset Sabres to keep alive their hopes of securing a place in the Friends Provident t20 quarter finals.

Faced with a target of 172 for victory the big hitting Sabres top order failed in spectacular fashion after Matthew Spriegel and Chris Tremlett picked up two wickets a piece to leave the visitors 17-4.

Jos Buttler (29) offered some hope but when he was dismissed by Rory Hamilton-Brown the Lions had taken complete control of the game.

Having won the toss the home side battled first with teenage sensation Jason Roy staring one again with the bat during a 50 ball inning which saw him smash 74 runs.

Mark Ramprakash (34) and Hamilton-Brown (25) offered support to secure the Lions 6th victory of the tournament.
