The Middlesex Panthers claimed a vital 5 wicket victory over the Sussex Sharks to keep alive their hope of reaching the Friends Provident t20 quarter finals.
Having been set a total of 141 for victory the visitors reached their target with 4 balls to spare thanks to Owais Shah (34) and Scott Newman (30) who topped scored on a slow wicket.
The defending champs suffered their third defeat in the space of 4 games after their top order was blown away by Tim Murtagh (3-24) to leave the home side 37-4.
Ollie Raynor (41) and Will Beer (22) offered some hope but the Sharks total of 140-9 was always going to be 20 runs short and so it proved.
