Parks leads Falcons to victory over Lightning

Garry Park remained calm at the crease to steer the Derbyshire Falcons to a 5 wicket victory over the Lancashire Lightning at Queen’s Park in Chesterfield.

Set a total of 133 for victory the Falcons were reduced to 12-2 before Park came to the rescue hitting a 45 ball half century to put the home side in control.

Supported by Robin Peterson (28) Park steered the Falcons towards victory before being dismissed by Stephen Perry in the 17th over.

Jonathan Clare (9) and John Sadler (9) remained calm to lead the Falcons to their 5th victory in this years Friends Provident t20 tournament.

Defeat for the Lightning leaves them 3rd in the North group after being reduced to just 22-5 after Tim Groenewald (3-18) struck three times.

Gareth Cross (65) and Glen Chapple lead the fight back but the Falcons restricted the visitors to a total of just 132-7.
