


The Somerset Sabres cruised to a 79 run victory over the Middlesex Panthers to keep alive their chances of claiming a place in the knock out stages of the Friends Provident t20.
Faced with a total of 205 to chase for victory the Panthers collapse to a total of just 125 despite being 98-3 at the start of the 12th over.
The Panthers lost 7 wickets in the space of 5 overs to hand the Sabres an easy victory with Murali Kartik (3-37) and Kieron Pollard (2-20) staring with the ball.
The victory was set up by Sabres skipper Marcus Trescothick who smashed 83 from just 38 balls which included 11 fours and 4 sixes, supported by James Hildreth (48) the Sabres reached an imposing total of 204-5.
