The Worcestershire Royals kept alive their faint hopes of a place in the Friends Provident t20 quarter finals thanks to a tense 3 wicket victory over the Leicestershire Foxes at Grace Road.
Faced with a target of 143 for victory the Royals survived a middle order collapse before Gareth Andrew smashed a quick fire 27 from just 11 balls to secure victory with 6 balls to spare.
The Royals got off to a good start thanks to Phil Jaques (32) and Sanath Jayasuriya (25) but the visitors lost
The Foxes will look back on a missed opportunity after the Royals needed another 31 runs from just 18 balls before Andrew’s cameo.
Having batted first the Foxes reached a total of 142-8 with Brad Hodge (22) and Jacques du Tiot (21) and Wayne White (26) contributing with the bat.
