Dynamos hold on to record victory over Royals

The Durham Dynamos kept alive their faint hopes of reaching the Friends Provident t20 quarter finals thanks to a thrilling 3 run victory over the Worcestershire Royals.

Having been put into bat by the Royals; Mark Stoneman (46) and Ben Stokes (44) lead the way for the Dynamos helping the visitors reach 144-6.

In reply the Royals got off to a quick start thanks to Sanath Jayasuriya who smashed 45 from just 29 balls. With the home side on top they lost Phil Jaques (7) Moeen Ali (0) and Jayasuriya in the space of 8 balls.

Vikram Solanki (25)and Daryl Mitchell (19) added vital runs but the Royals came up three runs short with Imran Arif unable to score the winning runs from the final ball of the innings.
