Steelbacks pulled off another amazing tie

The Northants Steelbacks secured their third tie in this years Friends Provident t20 after Jack Brooks scored two from the final ball of the game to deny the Nottinghamshire Outlaws.

The tie, the second between the two teams this summer in the shortest format of the game was another thrilling encounter with the Steelbacks needing 10 runs from the final over.

Andrew Hall (13), James Middlebrook (9) and Ben Howgego (1) were all run out in the final over as the home side scrambled to avoid defeat.

Having batted first the Outlaws were pinned back after losing a handful of early wicket before David Hussey (41) and Samit Patel (40) helped the visitors reach 144-7 after they had been reduced to 13-3.
