The Warwickshire Bears strengthened their chances of securing a home tie in the Friends Provident t20 quarter finals thanks to a 14 run victory over Yorkshire Carnegie.
Having been put into bat by the visitors the Bears got off to a good start with Jonathon Trott (19) and Neil Carter (27) enjoying an opening partnership off 44 before Carter was bowled by Steven Patterson.
Trott quickly followed as the Bears suffered a top order batting collapse before Rikki Clarke smashed 39 from 29 balls to rescue the home sides innings.
With support from Chris Woakes (27) the Bears reached 145-8.
In reply the visitors struggled with the bat with only Andrew Gale (31) offering any resistant’s as Yorkshire’s middle order failed to fire.
