Foxes over power Outlaws at Trent Bridge

The Nottinghamshire Outlaws crashed to a surprising 23 run defeat against the Leicestershire Foxes at Trent Bridge to keep alive the visitors mathematical chances of reaching the knock out stages of the Friends Provident t20.

With the Lancashire Lightning’s defeat earlier in the evening the Outlaws know they had secured a home tie in the quarter finals but their will ne one or two alarm bells about how their slumped to a heavy defeat.

With a total of 146 to chase the Outlaws lost wickets at regular intervals to end the game 23 runs short of their Duckworth Lewis target after rain had forced the player of the pitch for 20 minutes during the home sides run chase.

With the middle order slumping Steven Mullaney (29) top scored as the Outlaws big hitters failed to fire with the bat to leave the home side 107-9.

Having been put into bat by the Outlaws; the Foxes struggled earlier on before Andrew McDonald smashed 58 from just 44 balls to help the visitors reach 145-5.
