Panthers crush disappointing Royals

James Fiztpatrick | cricket20

The Middlesex Panthers cruised to a comprehensive 8 wicket victory over the Hampshire Royals after bowling out the home side for just 99.

The victory for the Panthers keeps alive their chances of reaching the Friends Provident t20 quarter finals but they still need the Royals to lose their final match to stand any chance.

The Royals batted first after winning the toss but they suffered a torrid time with the bat with opener Michael Carberry (34) offering the only resistant’s as the home side slumped to a total of just 99.

With such a low total the Panthers cruised to victory with David Warner (43) leading the way before he was dismissed by Daniel Christian in the 8th over.

With the big hitting Aussies back in the dugout Owais Shah (18) and Dawid Malan (25) lead the Panthers home.
