The Surrey Lions cruised to a crushing 6 wicket victory over the Gloucestershire Gladiators reaching their target of 148 with 49 balls to spare.
With the Lions sitting in 6th place in the Friends Provident t20 South group they tried to chased down the winning target in just 9 overs in an attempt to leap frog the Middlesex Panthers and Hampshire Royals.
The run chase got off to an electrifying start thanks to Rory Hamilton-Brown (48) and Steve Davies (48) who shared an opening partnership of 112 before Hamilton-Brown was trapped LBW by Richard Dawson.
Davies quickly followed to leave Gary Wilson (14) and Stewart Walters (6) to steer the visitors home.
Having batted first the Gladiators reached 147-7 thanks to William Porterfield (37) at the top of the order with support coming from James Franklin (33).
