Injury forces Chambers out of Eagles line up

The Essex Eagles have suffered an injury setback just 4 days before their Friends Provident t20 semi final against the Hampshire Royals at the Rose Bowl.

Seam bowler Maurice Chambers has failed to recover in time from a side strain and will miss out on the Finals Day after being told he needs to rest for another 10 days.

“Unfortunately Maurice is going to be out for another week to ten days, “ said Eagles head coach Paul Grayson.

"We're hoping Dwayne Bravo's still going to be here and Ravi Bopara bowled for the first time in two weeks. And we can put David Masters and Christopher Wright in there,” he added.

The news that Chambers will be missing will be a blow but Grayson added that 21 year old medium-pacer Andy Carter should be fit to face the Royals.
